MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED; CURRENT PA CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CLEARANCE, PA STATE POLICE CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK CLEARANCE & FBI CLEARANCE . Must have the ability to interact with children, motorist and other members of the public, pleasantly and effectively. Ability to adjust to changing work hours; ability to walk; stand continuously; work in adverse weather conditions; the ability to be assertive and control any given situation;

the ability to work without direct supervision and to make quick decisions based on accurate assessment of a situation, using knowledge and common sense. Working home telephone is required.

GENERAL DEFINITION: This is entry-level work involving assisting school children to cross intersections. Assignments are limited in nature and are carried out to detailed instructions. Incumbent responsibilities include maintaining traffic control; ensuring the safety of children going to and from school. After training, work is performed under the supervision of a Supervisor, Police Lieutenant or Chief of Police.
