Adjunct Faculty – Mathematics – UMGC Europe –

Adana, Turkey

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on‑site in Turkey for the Mathematics program.

• Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
• Professional experience in Mathematics or a related field
• Unconferenced unofficial transcripts and/or credential evaluations for all graduate degrees
• Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred
• Local applicants only; applicants must maintain their own legal status in the country

• Official transcripts as part of the selection process

• Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed
• Guide students in active collaboration and application of their learning through problem‑ and project‑based learning demonstrations
• Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics for assessment, and acknowledging student accomplishments
• Demonstrate relevant and current subject‑matter expertise and help students connect concepts across their program
• Provide feedback to the program chair on possible curricular improvements

• Health Coverage: access to health care, medical with vision, dental, and prescription plans for individuals and families, effective from the first of the month following hire. Adjuncts are only eligible for State of Maryland benefits and are responsible for total cost if enrolled.

• Non‑PhD:
  Step 1 $ 903 – Step 16 $ 1,173 per credit hour
• PhD:
  Step 1 $ 931 – Step 16 $ 1,215 per credit hour
