Daily Salary Rate: B.A. $341.76 / M.A. $367.39
Available: November 11, 2025 - December 19, 2025
Title: SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
Duration: 11/11/25 - 12/19/25
Purpose StatementThe job of Substitute Teacher is done for the purpose of performing the regular teacher’s class plan while the teacher is absent.
Essential Functions- Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and students.
- Assumes the responsibilities for instructing classes when a teacher is absent.
- Assumes all other responsibilities for that teacher during the time the teacher is absent.
- Prepares lesson plans with assistance, as directed by an administrator, when lesson plans are not available in the classroom.
- Maintains appropriate records including checking test papers, recording grades, student assignments for homework, projects and the necessary clerical work required to maintain student records for a teacher who is absent.
- Provides assistance for students who need special help on those days when no teacher is absent.
- Provides for individualized and small group assistance for students as indicated by lesson plans.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities- Skills
: operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; preparing and maintaining accurate records. - Knowledge
: basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; reading a variety of manuals, writing documents following prescribed formats, and/or presenting information to others; understanding complex, multi-step written and oral instructions; concepts of grammar and punctuation; stages of child development and learning styles; age-appropriate activities. - Abilities
: scheduling activities; collating data; using basic job-related equipment; flexibility to work with others; working with data using defined but different processes; operating equipment using standardized methods; working with a wide diversity of individuals; maintaining confidentiality; setting priorities; working as part of a team; handling constant interruptions; problem solving to identify issues and create action plans.
Responsibilities include:
working under limited supervision using standardized procedures; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 45% walking, and 45% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a clean atmosphere.
