Aegis is partnered with a growing electrical manufacturing company in the Addison, IL area who is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join its engineering team. This role focuses on designing and releasing custom low-voltage switch gear, switchboards, and power distribution systems for industrial and commercial applications.

• Create single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control schematics, and BOMs.
• Develop and release manufacturing drawings, including wiring and interconnection diagrams.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering on integrated designs.
• Support production and purchasing to ensure accurate builds and component selection.
• Troubleshoot wiring or mounting issues directly on the shop floor.
• Ensure compliance with UL, NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement and design-for-manufacturability projects.
• Provide technical support to sales and distributors as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering OR Associate’s in EET with 5+ years of experience.
• 3+ years of electrical design experience.
• 2+ years with a switch gear or electrical enclosure manufacturer.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (AutoCAD Electrical a plus).
• Strong understanding of power distribution, breaker selection, cable sizing, and control circuits.
• Ability to read and generate wiring diagrams, schematics, and interconnection drawings.
• Familiarity with NEC, UL, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
