Senior Manufacturing Engineer / Advanced Manufacturing Systems Engineer-Precision Machining and Assembly

Ready to lead complex machining and assembly processes in a high-tech, precision-driven manufacturing environment?

My client is seeking a hands-on, solutions-focused Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established team at their suburban Chicago facility.

This is a critical role for someone who can take ownership, drive continuous improvement, and influence how complex aerospace components are built.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Create and optimize BOMs and routers to support complex product builds.
  • Drive process improvement across precision machining, assembly, and special processes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
  • Interpret engineering requirements and translate them into actionable manufacturing strategies.
  • Design tooling and equipment to improve cost, quality, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with materials review board, support capital projects, and ensure AS9100 compliance.
About You
  • Be able to do the job as described.
  • Ideally 15 or more years experience in a manufacturing engineering capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering required.
  • Background in machining, special processes, and complex assemblies.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles and CI project leadership.
  • Advanced Excel and technical communication skills.
