Drafting Engineer Manager- Architectural Millwork

Job Description

A valued client of ours is a leading manufacturer of commercial custom cabinetry and architectural millwork serving the Chicago market. We are seeking an experienced drafting engineer department Manager. This is a direct-hire position with our client, and we are looking to hire ASAP.

Responsibilities

· Delegate work to the drafting/engineering team

· Participate in project kick off meetings

· Manage the drafting/engineering steps in INNERGY (our ERP system) and make sure it is kept up to date for efficient management of projects throughout the company

· Delegate code as it comes available and look for anything we can work on ahead of time

· Determine when OT is necessary in the drafting/engineering department to maintain production workflow

· Manage outsourcing drawings and handle communications between outsourced drafter and project managers.

· Produce details millwork shop drawings as necessary (Microvellum)

· Produce CNC machine code as necessary (Microvellum)

· Maintain Microvellum, templates, hardware, materials, products, and tooling.

· Lead the transition to producing shop drawings in Microvellum.

Manage Drafting Department hardware and software as necessary, i.e., printers and computers
