Refrigeration Specialist, Critically Charged Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Specialist with deep expertise in critically charged ammonia systems, including MRBraz and Bitzer packages. This role will lead our in-house preventative maintenance and troubleshooting program for eight (8) ammonia refrigeration systems (~50 TR each) used in food manufacturing.

• Lead and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for MRBraz and Bitzer ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and controls.
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to maximize uptime and energy efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with operations and safety teams to support production needs and emergency response readiness.
• Train and mentor internal staff on ammonia system awareness and safety protocols.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, with a focus on low-charge/critical charge designs.
• Direct experience with MRBraz and Bitzer ammonia refrigeration packages.
• REQUIRED – RETA/ CIRO certification
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.

• Background in food manufacturing or cold storage environments.
• Vibration analysis, oil sampling, and thermographic inspection experience.
• RETA/ CRST or CRES certification

Compensation estimates are provided in good faith at the time of job posting. Job offers may vary based on the candidate’s education, certifications, job-related knowledge, skill, experience, geographic location, shift, and internal equity. Clyde’s may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

• Target Hourly Wage: $65.00 to $75.00 per hour
• Position is eligible for annual bonus
