Electrical Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift
Location: Addison, IL

Position Overview: As a QA Electrical Inspector you will ensure that all products meet the highest standards for performance and safety. You will be responsible for detailed inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of low‑voltage panel boards, switchboards, and medium‑voltage switch gear throughout the manufacturing process. You will collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to resolve issues and continually raise the bar for product quality in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review electrical drawings and design specifications to interpret customer requirements.
- Conduct thorough inspections of electronic assemblies and control wiring, verifying workmanship, labeling, and technical accuracy.
- Perform comprehensive functional electrical tests, such as insulation (Hi‑Pot and Megger) and voltage testing, to ensure reliable switch gear performance and safety.
- Manage and maintain electrical test equipment, ensuring calibration and recommending improvements for efficiency and quality.
- Participate in defect troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis, implementing preventive measures.
- Rigorously uphold electrical safety standards and communicate best practices to colleagues.
- Document all test results and quality control activities with clarity and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical inspection or testing, preferably with electrical distribution equipment.
- Sound knowledge of high‑voltage safety requirements; familiarity with NFPA 70E standards is highly desirable.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, and point‑to‑point diagrams.
- Familiarity with wiring practices and product standards such as UL 67, UL 891, UL 1558, and relevant IEEE specifications preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively across functions.
- Quality‑first mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and adaptability to changing priorities.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing setting with frequent exposure to machinery and electrical systems.
- Requires mobility throughout the facility, extended periods of standing, and ability to safely perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, or lifting.
