Job Summary

The Loader Operator/Utility will be responsible for operating the loader safely and efficiently, as well as performing additional tasks within the sand and gravel operation.

Essential

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely load customer trucks and trailers using a CAT 980M Wheel Loader, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure loading for transport.
  • Conduct routine equipment maintenance tasks such as greasing, cleaning, and performing detailed inspections, along with accurately completing maintenance and inspection reports.
  • Assist in maintaining the plant's operational efficiency by participating in general plant upkeep, performing repairs, and supporting other necessary tasks as required.
  • Operate various other equipment on-site, including skid steer, fuel truck, water truck, and haul truck, to support different operations as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and MSHA guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • In-Person Attendance is required.
Other Required Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform any other tasks or projects assigned by the team to support the department's goals.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Safely access and navigate the facility, including climbing and descending ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • The position will require work outside of normal business hours.
Skills/Abilities
  • Valid Driver’s License (DL) and satisfactory driving record is required.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Policy Handbook and EHS Manual.
  • Represent The Gerken Companies to customers in a professional manner, supporting the company’s goals.
  • Willingness to learn, with a positive attitude, dependability, and strong teamwork.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently is essential.
Education and Experience

Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school is required.
