Corporate Controller

Location: Addison, TX

About the Company:

We are a rapidly growing, private-equity–backed construction and services organization with diverse operations across multiple regions. As we continue to scale organically and through acquisitions, we are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Controller to strengthen our financial infrastructure, drive operational excellence, and support strategic initiatives.

Position Summary

The Corporate Controller will serve as the company’s senior accounting leader, responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, technical accounting, compliance, and internal controls. This role requires deep experience in percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting
, construction cost accounting
, and purchase accounting related to acquisitions. The ideal candidate brings a strong process mindset, thrives in a fast-paced PE environment, and is capable of elevating the accounting function to support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
  • Oversee application of percentage-of-completion and cost-to-complete methodologies for long-term construction projects.
  • Own purchase accounting for acquisitions, including valuation allocations, opening balance sheet creation, and integration into the consolidated financials.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and all regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and present financial results, variance analyses, and supporting metrics to senior leadership and private equity partners.

Operations & Project Accounting

  • Oversee job cost accounting, WIP schedules, labor costing, revenue recognition, and project margin reporting.
  • Partner with operations leaders to ensure accuracy of forecasting, project performance, and risk assessment.
  • Review project budgets, change orders, and contract terms to ensure proper accounting treatment.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Strengthen and standardize accounting policies, systems, and internal controls across all business units.
  • Drive automation and scalability within accounting processes, including ERP optimization.
  • Enhance reporting tools, dashboards, and KPIs to increase visibility and decision-making accuracy.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team across AP, AR, GL, payroll, job costing, and financial reporting.
  • Build a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A, operations, legal, HR, and IT to support business goals.

M&A & Integration

  • Partner with the CFO on due diligence, modeling, and post-close integration activities.
  • Execute accurate and timely purchase price allocation (PPA) and support financial onboarding of acquired companies.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across newly integrated entities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or field-services environments.
  • Deep expertise in percentage-of-completion accounting and purchase accounting
    .
  • Experience in a private-equity–backed or high-growth, multi-entity environment.
  • Strong command of US GAAP, internal controls, and technical accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and building scalable accounting processes.
  • Proficiency with modern ERPs (e.g., Viewpoint, CMiC, Sage, Net Suite, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
