A successful, privately held wealth management and investment advisory firm is expanding its tax practice and looking for a CPA to help lead and build the function.
This isn't a traditional corporate tax position. You'll remain close to the work you know—
individual tax, planning, review and client relationships
—while getting the opportunity to help build a growing tax platform and enjoy a much more predictable schedule outside of tax season.

- Help shape the processes, team and direction of a growing tax practice
- Stable, privately held wealth management organization with an established client base
- Flexible, collaborative culture
You'll take a leadership role in the firm's growing tax offering, including reviewing individual tax returns, tax planning, managing client relationships, researching tax issues, developing staff and improving processes
.
Just as importantly, you'll work closely with leadership to determine how the tax function should evolve and scale as the business continues to grow.
Who We're Looking For:The target background is straightforward:
- CPA or at least in progress*
- 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Currently a Tax Supervisor, Manager, Senior Manager or Director
- Strong 1040 / individual tax compliance and review experience
- High-net-worth/private client experience is a plus
- Strong tax planning and research skills
- Experience supervising and developing staff
- Comfortable working directly with clients
- Someone who wants to build
, rather than simply inherit an established process
Schedule:
Peak tax season: 4 days in office / 1 remote
Off-season: 3 days in office / 2 remote
And perhaps most importantly:
approximately May through January, the expectation is a 40-hour workweek.
For someone who has spent years building a career in public accounting, this offers the opportunity to keep the technical and client-facing parts of tax you enjoy while leaving much of the public accounting grind behind.
