Job Title: Regional Director - Design and Construction
Location: Nationally - USA REMOTE
Reporting To: Vice President of Design and Construction
Purpose: The Regional Director oversees the regional reporting for the execution of construction projects such as new office openings, office expansions, roll‑ins and other location changes, as well as oversee in‑region training and staffing needs. They will manage a team of construction managers who oversee the construction work in progress on behalf of ownership to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications by performing the following duties.
Key Responsibilities- Managing the D&C team setting up new projects in company systems and maintaining accurate project files.
- Reporting tracked project milestones and keeping schedules up to date.
- Reviewing with the D&C team project documents, photos, and checklists from projects.
- Reporting and forecasting work in progress to ensure procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications and submittals.
- Weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting of team construction and inspection activities and comparing progress reports.
- Reviewing and approving sketches of construction installations that deviate from plans and reporting such changes for incorporation into record drawings.
- Pressing the team to monitor contractor work schedules, coordinate with construction materials testing laboratories, and request necessary testing.
- Reviewing project closeout with individual members examining workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards.
- Reviewing team members with monthly performance reviews.
- Updating project dashboards and reporting to division.
- Working with operations to streamline process and delivery.
- Providing reporting and communication support for team members.
- Supporting scheduling of meetings for project parties.
- Helping track partner invoices and ensuring they are processed timely.
- High school diploma or GED with 20+ years' experience and/or training in commercial building, renovation, and construction is required.
- 15+ years with a bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field is required.
- Proven experience acting as an owner's representative, managing projects from conception to completion. References preferred.
- Managing a team of 5 or more salaried professionals with experience starting and completing over 30 projects annually.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, Kahua, Project, Pantera).
- Experience with PDF markup software such as Bluebeam, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial construction trades, methodologies, and procedures.
- High proficiency in reading and interpreting all construction documents, including drawings, submittals, change orders, and RFIs.
- Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative without direct supervision.
- A strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm with overtime as needed.
