Party Chief
We are seeking a Party Chief who can effectively contribute to a two-person survey crew in the field. The role involves leading a survey crew across various job sites and assisting the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) team as needed. The position focuses on ensuring quality, accuracy, and thoroughness in survey work, all while maintaining public relations, safety, and meeting schedules and budgets.
Responsibilities- Lead and organize field work for survey crews.
- Direct crew members and maintain a safe working environment.
- Protect and maintain equipment and vehicles.
- Accurately and efficiently collect and deliver field data.
- Designate underground utilities.
- Maintain accurate records of work and expenses.
- Ensure all work meets regulatory requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in survey field operations, with at least 1 year as a survey crew chief.
- Proficiency with survey equipment, including total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
- Technical skills in using Trimble and experience in land development and transportation projects.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
Skills & Qualifications
- Construction staking experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a structured team.
- Willingness to travel overnight when required.
The position requires significant outdoor work, involving a lot of walking through various terrains and weather conditions. Travel is a substantial part of this role, with about 50% travel expected across Texas and surrounding states. A per diem for travel is provided along with lodging. The role demands adaptability to extreme weather conditions and a commitment to safety and accuracy in all tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
