The Platform Engineer 3 primary duties involve design work, specifically designing strategic and tailored solutions to meet specific client requests. This position frequently anticipates problems, analyzes ways to mitigate risk, and provides advanced production support including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation, and customer/vendor dialogue.

• Provide level 3 & 4 server production support including problem identification, ticket documentation, and closure.
• Articulate the business value and impact of advanced technical and non-technical information and understand when to escape issues.
• Perform daily platform related administrative tasks and design strategic solutions for client requests.
• Anticipate problems and analyze ways to mitigate risk.
• Dissect complex situations and focus on critical technology tasks.
• Document small-to-medium scale projects and deliver presentations with minimal supervision.
• Serve as an informal leader on tactical problems, consulted by peers.
• Maintain current professional and technical skills and stay abreast of emerging technologies.
• Manage and configure Terraform to ensure pipelines comply with SLAs.
• Configure ingestion pipelines for various sources using the internal ingestion framework to comply with SLAs.
• Partner with the Data Lake development team to configure non-production environments for development and testing.
• Manage Athena datasets and tables.
• Configure workload (jobs, queries, compute capacity) and monitor resources (quotas, jobs, compute).
• Optimize workloads for best performance to control costs and troubleshoot error messages and quotas.
• Manage user access.
• Provide operational support for AWS services and EC2, including on‑call incident resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years of experience in a platform engineering role

• Database maintenance experience, proficiency in relational database, Python development and scripting.
• Proficiency in Data Warehouse and Data Lake concepts.
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS (architecture, optimization, and best practices).
• High level of technical expertise to recommend process improvements.
• Solid organizational skills and critical thinking beyond runbook-level problem resolution.
• Proactive, consistent communication with the management team on system/project status and issues.
• Excellent grammar, spelling, typing skills, and two years of experience on Office 365 products.
• Establish a high level of personal credibility and build strong professional relationships with customers.
