Lead Mainframe Developer

Infosys is seeking a Lead Mainframe Developer. This role will serve as a technical leader, coordinating day‑to‑day deliverables and providing expertise across all stages of large business system projects. The candidate will design applications, build interfaces, and ensure data security, retention, and recovery. They will independently research and recommend technology solutions, establish best practices and standards, and mentor the team during build and test phases.

• Provide technical expertise and coordinate day‑to‑day deliverables for the team.
• Assist in the technical design of large business systems and build applications and interfaces.
• Understand and implement data security, retention, and recovery procedures.
• Research technologies, recommend solutions, and contribute to technology‑specific best practices and standards.
• Contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, including reliability, cost‑effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability, and scalability.
• Lead significant application components and guide/mentor the team during build and test phases.
• Maintain effective communication via telephone, email, or face‑to‑face interactions.
• Work a long period at a computer while performing duties with minimal interruption.

Candidate must reside within commuting distance of Addison, TX;
Kennesaw, GA;
Charlotte, NC; or Newark, DE, or be willing to relocate to the area. The position may require travel to project locations.

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
• Experience in DB2.
• Experience in COBOL.

• At least 4 years of experience in mainframe software design and development using COBOL, CICS, JCL, TAL, TACL, C, SCOBOL, and Tandem Non‑Stop Kernel.
• Experience in DB2 and VSAM.
• Experience in software development life cycle.
• Experience in project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects.
• Willing to work in application/production support.
• Experience in banking domain.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a team across diverse stakeholders.
• Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment.
