MicroStrategy Developer - Addison, TX

Location: Addison, TX / Charlotte, NC (5 days onsite)
Duration: 12 months Contract (High possibility of extension)
Visa Requirement: W2 only (with minimum 12 months visa validity)
Rate: Charlotte, NC – $65-68/hr on W2

We are seeking a Senior Micro Strategy Developer to join our GIS team and help drive our next-generation data visualization and analytics solutions. You will be part of a collaborative team focused on improving business outcomes through advanced BI dashboards, reports, and analytics tools.

As a Micro Strategy Developer, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, design interactive dashboards, and develop data visualization solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights. This role requires strong SQL skills, a passion for data, and an ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Set up and maintain data connections across BI tools (Micro Strategy, Tableau)

• Develop dashboards, reports, and guided analytics in Micro Strategy

• Manage user accounts, server content, and permissions

• Provide training and documentation to educate users on Micro Strategy

• Design proof of concept solutions and create advanced BI visualizations

• Troubleshoot issues, including writing and executing SQL queries

• Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate into technical specifications

• Deliver clear and compelling presentations and written materials

• Manage multiple priorities and requests efficiently

• Communicate complex technical topics through both written and oral channels

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• 8+ years of experience in BI report development

• 5+ years of Micro Strategy experience

• Tableau experience is a strong plus

• Strong SQL skills (MySQL, Oracle, Impala, or similar)

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

• Proficiency in BI visualizations and data storytelling

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to understand and meet customer requirements

• Passion for data-driven decision-making and continuous learning

• Self-starter with minimal supervision

• Team player with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams

• Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
