Optical Practice Manager

Flame Health Optometry have been instructed to recruit an Optical Practice Manager for a confidential client in Addlestone. This is an opportunity for a qualified, GOC-registered Dispensing Optician to take the next step into leadership, with the backing of experienced managers and access to training and development.

The Optical Practice Manager will lead a single-clinic practice in Addlestone, Surrey, with a salary of £37,132 plus extensive bonuses. The role would suit a Dispensing Optician who is ready to move beyond dispensing, whether bringing some supervisory experience or seeking their first management position.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the practice and help shape its culture, performance and patient experience. You will lead, coach and motivate colleagues, support their learning and development, and foster a positive environment in which both patients and team members feel valued.

You will build strong relationships with patients, monitor business objectives and plan and deliver activity to support performance and growth. Maintaining high standards across the operation and promoting customer satisfaction will be central to the role. You will have scope to influence how the practice operates, while working closely with your Area Manager on individual and business goals. Mentoring, training and ongoing development will support you as you build your leadership capability.

You will need to hold a Dispensing Optician qualification and be fully registered with the General Optical Council (GOC). Strong communication and relationship-building skills are important, alongside a positive, proactive approach to leadership.

You should be interested in patient care and personal development, with the ability to inspire, motivate and support colleagues. Commercial awareness and an interest in business performance will help you plan effectively and identify opportunities for growth. Previous management experience is welcome but is not essential; ambition to develop as a leader and a commitment to delivering an outstanding patient experience are key.
