The Second Shift Shop Lead is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supporting daily production activities and providing direction to employees working the second shift at our Adel manufacturing facility.
This position serves as the primary point of contact for shop employees during the second shift, helping ensure work assignments are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
The Shop Lead is responsible for monitoring employee attendance, reviewing timecards, verifying hours worked, and ensuring employee time is recorded accurately in the company's timekeeping system.
Unlike the Shop Foreman, this position focuses on daily shift coordination, employee guidance, timekeeping, and communicating production concerns to management rather than overseeing broader shop operations.
The successful candidate will be dependable, organized, comfortable working alongside shop employees, and capable of providing clear direction while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Daily Shop Leadership- Provide daily direction to second shift employees regarding assigned work and production priorities.
- Help organize daily tasks based on instructions and production schedules provided by management.
- Ensure employees understand their assignments, expected completion times, and quality requirements.
- Remain present and accessible on the shop floor to answer questions and provide guidance.
- Monitor daily work progress and help keep employees focused on completing assigned tasks.
- Assist employees with production activities when additional support is needed.
