The Solar Technician III is the most experienced field position which performs both electrical and mechanical services. The Solar Technician III primary objective is to ensure that all equipment serviced, operates at the highest level while providing leadership and training to other field positions.
As the Solar Technician III, you will:- Demonstrate integrity, initiative, work ethic, as well as a commitment to safety and quality on all tasks assigned, on a continuous basis.
- Complete all safety training as required by the company.
- Ensure that all safety policies and procedures, related to any work performed, have been reviewed and understood before work begins.
- Attend and participate in weekly safety meetings.
- Oversee, provide direction, and training to Solar Technician 1 and Solar Technician 2 working in the area.
- Ensure that all required Personnel Protective Equipment has been received, inspected and utilized in accordance with applicable safety policies and procedures.
- Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on solar, energy storage and EV charging installations in accordance with MN8 and OEM standards.
- Troubleshoot solar, energy storage and EV charging installations efficiently, determining the root cause and correct repair required to place the equipment back into service.
- Complete all assigned task safely, correctly and in the allotted time.
- Ensure all provided vehicles, tools, equipment, electronics, and parts are accounted for, well maintained, free of damage, properly stored and.
- Accurately complete all required documentation, checklist, timecards and photography for work performed.
- Complete all other duties and task which may be assigned by direct supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background and motor vehicle record check.
- Ability to communicate in English both orally and writing
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet based program navigation.
- Proven experience understanding and implementing OSHA regulations.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand basic design drawings and schematics.
- Intermediate to advance electrical theory knowledge.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform and interpret IV Curve tracing, in order to determine if an issue exists.
- Ability to drive a vehicle.
- Availability to work on weekends as part of on-call rotations.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to walk distances up to 5 miles in a day
- Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and the like, maintaining 3 points of contact.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
- Ability to maintain body equilibrium while walking, standing, crouching, transitioning levels on level, narrow or slippery surfaces.
- Required to have visual acuity which includes depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors.
- Ability to work in outside environments which may include but are not limited to, extreme heat (temperatures above 100℉) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32℉) for periods of more than one hour.
- Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
