General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA‑ASI) invites applications for an Airframe Liaison Engineer based in Adelanto, CA.

Job Summary

In this role, you will determine and develop effective approaches for resolving a wide range of engineering problems, coordinate with cross‑functional engineering groups, and provide direction to design and technical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare briefs for Change Control Board (CCB) stakeholders.
  • Serve as the Material Review Board (MRB) engineer for nonconforming production parts.
  • Coordinate with Airframe Integrity, Material & Process, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering to resolve complex issues.
  • Identify root causes of engineering and manufacturing issues and work independently to resolve them.
  • Clarify engineering drawing intent and support the production floor in a fast‑paced prototype environment.
  • Provide technical presentations and documentation as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Observe all laws, regulations and safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace or Structural Engineering; 6+ years of experience with a bachelor’s, 4+ years with a master’s, or 2+ years with a PhD (equivalent experience may substitute).
  • Experience as an MRB engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawings with emphasis on composite lamination and airframe integration.
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T ANSI Y‑14.5M.
  • Proficiency with CREO Parametric, NX or similar CAD software.
  • Experience in fast‑paced manufacturing environments.
  • DoD Secret Clearance desired.
