Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a System Development & Test (SD&T) Engineer at our El Mirage Engine Test facility. Under general supervision with regular review, this position is responsible for applying innovative approaches to resolve unusual and complex engineering problems for engine test stand design and troubleshooting. This role suits someone who enjoys a fast‑paced environment with multiple concurrent projects.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, repair, and support maintenance of propulsion test stand equipment, both electrically and mechanically.
- Design, develop, and provide necessary technical documentation for test systems and/or customized tooling.
- Apply technical knowledge to analyze, investigate, and resolve assigned engineering problems.
- Prepare, coordinate, and lead test activities and obtain and analyze test data.
- Create system plans and provide technical presentations as required.
- Lead small teams and projects, and mentor new engineers.
- Support production to evaluate and disposition nonconformances, including root‑cause analysis, and participate in corrective and preventive action processes.
- Prepare recommendations for capital expenditures to support manufacturing or test process improvements.
- Pass information up and down the management chain efficiently and effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned and work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Observe all laws, regulations, and applicable requirements wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution; progressive engineering experience: four or more years with bachelor’s degree or two or more years with master’s degree (or equivalent experience).
- Prior experience in a Test & Evaluation role for propulsion systems (highly desired).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
- Thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating application of those concepts.
- Proficiency with required diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work extended hours as required, including potential travel.
- 6+ years of mechanical design and electrical system design and troubleshooting experience, including design and implementation of complex systems or subsystems.
- Experience with various engine propulsion systems, including jet and/or diesel engines.
- Integration of hardware, software, and network components.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Reading and creating electrical, mechanical, and system‑level part/assembly drawings and BOMs.
- LabVIEW software experience.
- Experience with various manufacturing/fabrication methods: welding, machining, waterjet/laser cutting, anodizing, sheet metal, etc.
- CAD modeling experience using NX, Creo, and/or Solid Works.

Job Type: Full‑Time. Salary Range: $81,080 - $141,650.
