ZIS Bilingual Pathway

ZIS launched a bilingual pathway in August 2021. The pathway, which meets the requirements of the Swiss Lehrplan 21 curriculum, has now grown to include classes from Early Childhood through to Grade 5, with Grade 6 opening in August 2026. The pathway will include students up to Grade 9 in the coming years.

The Bilingual Pathway is offered as an alternative pathway to our full international pathway. German speaking and bilingual homeroom teachers are part of our extended international grade level teaching team.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced, bilingual (C2 German & English) Grade 6 homeroom teacher, to teach in both German and English, who is excited by the challenge and benefits of working in an international environment that values and promotes professional collaboration and multilingualism. The position includes planning time, ongoing professional development, both local and international, and international networking opportunities. It also offers the opportunity to collaborate with specialist subject teachers, and an extensive team of support teachers.

Requirements

• Teachers must have recent, prior experience of teaching in a German speaking or bilingual homeroom class. Recent teaching of Lehrplan 21 would be an advantage, but is not essential. EDK teaching certification is required, however, ZIS can support this application if you meet the requirements and have not yet applied for this. Applicants must furnish evidence of:
• German & English proficiency (C2 level)
