NOTE:
This is a TERM position (6 months to 24 months)
Installs, maintains and/or repairs network facilities and associated apparatus from station equipment to line card. Performs other related duties.
General Duties- Frequent driving and moderate travel
- Install and maintain inside wire for residential/business broadband (HSI/Video) service
- Install fiber to the house (FTTH), ONT, wireless routers, modems, gateways
- Install all wiring and equipment for broadband continuity, DSLAMs, residential gateways, HSI, and business class routers
- Perform cable construction and maintenance work associated with all network facilities, including conduit and manhole repairs, cross‑connections to switching equipment, and replacement of line cards in central office/pair gain units
- Read and understand service orders, trouble tickets, outside plant drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics
- Perform maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance on buried, aerial, and underground cable/fiber using various plant elements
- Perform aerial work from pole climbing, ladder, and bucket trucks; place aerial and buried plant and service drops
- Navigate web, set up business/residential computers, and demonstrate to customers
- Support and promote company products and services
- Adapt to changes in the business, including advances in technology and new skills and procedures
- Assist other departments and contractors; mentor co‑workers; follow through on assignments timely
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance
- Basic keyboard and software skills
- Must complete pole climbing certification; weight limit 275 lbs and appropriate clothing and footwear
- Complete company‑provided training and demonstrate ability to complete full installs
- Work independently and face‑to‑face with customers
- Work outdoors in adverse weather and in isolated or confined spaces
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record; CDL preferred
- Available for flexible scheduling, holidays, after hours and call‑outs
- Meet minimum testing requirements established by the company
- Climb poles and ladders; frequent lifting up to 75 pounds; push, reach, bend, stoop; manual dexterity; good balance; sit or stand for long periods; good color vision

Additional Information
- You are being hired with the express understanding that your employment will terminate within a 6‑24 month timeframe.
- You will remain in the same occupation into which you have been hired for the duration of your term.
- You will receive all benefits to which regular (“permanent”) employees are entitled, except for any contractual layoff or termination allowance.
