Accounting Manager

OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and Fasten Master. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The Fasten Master Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Accounting Manager will bring strong leadership capabilities and the ability to manage a team while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

This role requires commitment to driving continuous process improvements and ensuring all work is completed with the highest degree of quality and accuracy.

• Promote Safety as the Number One Priority of all OMG employees.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including credits and collections and accounts receivable.
• Lead the monthly closing process including review of journal entries and account reconciliations, prepare financial schedules and financial reports, and analyze account activity and balances.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
• Lead fixed assets and depreciation reporting, leases, sales and use tax, cash and AR.
• Lead external audits coordination, and provide information and analysis as requested.
• Oversee sales and use tax filings and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
• Assist with variance analysis, physical inventories, and cost updates.
• Prepare and maintain internal control narratives (i.e., Sarbanes-Oxley requirements) including interaction with other departments to ensure compliance.
• Strengthen existing controls and processes and recommend changes to enhance effectiveness and drive employee engagement.
• Process improvement mindset – implement and oversee efficient accounting systems and processes to improve accuracy and streamline workflows.
• Lead, coach and train staff to ensure professional growth and team effectiveness.
• Participate in GEMBA walks, including leading weekly Finance GEMBA.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. CPA preferred.
• 5+ years relevant experience; previous managerial experience preferred.
• Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, and other MS Office Suite programs.
• Technical Skill - Strong analytical skills, proficiency with ERP systems (QAD experience a plus).
• Ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and forecast future performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate conclusions from analysis conducted, including challenges and opportunities.
• Ability to manage teams, delegate tasks effectively, and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail to manage multiple projects and deadlines accurately.
• Strong compliance with company values and ethics.

• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all distractions when behind the wheel, especially cell phones.
• Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 25 pounds.
