The Senior Accounting Manager is a key leadership role leading our accounting team responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and application of accounting guidance to the financial records of the business. This position supports strategic decision‑making and oversees daily accounting operations for the bakery divisions.

- Oversee all daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable (AR), and cash management.
- Supervise and validate work completed by accounting and AR staff.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring financial statements are prepared in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with GAAP.
- Review and approve journal entries, as well as maintain accurate financial records including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform remaining month‑end reconciliations not assigned to staff, ensuring all accounts are accurate and fully supported.
- Collaborate with the corporate accounting team on financial close processes and 10‑Q/10‑K supporting documents and commentary.
- Prepare monthly financial package for review with senior management, including business activity reports, performance metrics to management and support schedules for management.
- Consolidate and participate in the development of budgets and financial forecasts to align with objectives and KPIs.
- Develop and document internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures to support audit readiness and sustainable growth.
- Serve as key liaison on company accounting issues, keeping abreast of the latest regulatory changes and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support in managing yearly audit.
- Mentor and develop a team of two individuals, fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement through training.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing company, preferably in the food industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, including financial statement preparation, and internal controls.
- Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Public accounting or publicly traded company experience.
