Overview

Dysrupt is looking for a Director of Media Strategy who can blend big-picture thinking with hands‑on performance expertise. In this role, you’ll lead strategy across a mix of clients, mentor a small but mighty team, and bring sharp audience, regional, and platform insights to every engagement. You’ll be the person clients trust to help them understand not just how media performs in the algo, but how media can solve real business challenges.

This role is perfect for someone who’s been living in performance marketing but is ready to step further upstream—guiding planning, shaping strategy, and driving multi‑platform thinking, while still staying close enough to the work to know what’s actually happening under the hood.

Responsibilities
  • Own the strategic direction and growth plan for a portfolio of clients, leading audience development, regional planning, channel mix decisions, and performance‑driven media strategies.
  • Develop longer‑term strategic plans and forecasting models that guide client investment, improve performance predictability, and drive year‑over‑year revenue growth across Dysrupt’s client portfolio

  • Partner closely with client leads to translate business problems into media solutions and present clear, persuasive strategic recommendations.
  • Identify upsell and expansion opportunities and sell through strategic recommendations that drive account growth.
  • Guide a small team (2–4 people), offering coaching, feedback, and hands‑on support while modeling excellence in research, planning, insights, and platform fluency.
  • Build integrated paid media plans rooted in platform mechanics, historical data, competitive intelligence, and cultural/behavioral insight.
  • Explore emerging channels, formats, and placements, with clear recommendations on when and how to deploy innovative strategies beyond standard best practices.
  • Review pacing, reporting, and campaign outputs at a strategic level to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with client goals.
  • Lead development of testing strategies, learning agendas, and measurement approaches that push both clients and Dysrupt forward.
  • Work cross‑functionally across Creative, Analytics, and Account Management to ensure media strategies ladder up to business‑level outcomes

  • Serve as the strategic lead in client meetings—distilling insights, defending strategic choices, simplifying complexity, and shaping long‑term planning.
  • Contribute to process improvements, team operations, and the evolution of Dysrupt’s strategic offering.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in performance marketing, digital strategy, or media planning, with multi‑platform experience (Meta, Google, Tik Tok, You Tube, etc.).
  • 2+ years of team leadership or mentorship experience; able to develop talent in a hands‑on, fast‑moving environment.
