Assistant Librarian

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Librarian to join our team in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. As an assistant librarian, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the library, including cataloging and classifying books, assisting patrons with research inquiries, and maintaining the library's collection.

• Assist in cataloging and classifying library materials using the Dewey Decimal System
• Help patrons locate books and resources for their research needs
• Maintain accurate records of borrowed and returned materials
• Process new acquisitions and donations to add to the library's collection
• Assist with organizing and promoting library events and programs
• Monitor the condition of books and materials, reporting any damages or repairs needed
• Collaborate with other staff members to improve services and processes within the library

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
• Preference for Pakistani nationality due to language requirements from patrons
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable working with computers and digital resources
• Previous experience in a library setting is not required but would be considered an asset

This position offers a salary of 1800$ per month.
