Library Assistant - Al

We are a renowned library in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait and we are currently seeking a Library Assistant to join our team. As a Library Assistant, you will assist the Librarian in managing the day-to-day operations of the library and ensuring a smooth functioning of all library services.

• Assist with cataloguing, classifying and indexing library materials using an automated system
• Maintain and update library records, including loan transactions and overdue notices
• Assist patrons with finding resources and provide guidance on how to use library resources effectively
• Process new materials for circulation, including labeling, shelving and organizing materials on shelves
• Help with maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the library space
• Perform basic computer tasks such as scanning, printing and photocopying for patrons when needed
• Collaborate with other staff members to plan and implement library programs and events

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience working in a library environment is preferred but not required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Familiarity with automated library systems is a plus

• Salary of 1300$ per month
