Job Overview

The Electrical DAS is assigned to provide technical support to the Maintenance Team to resolve any plant electrical issues that are impacting production over a short period of time by providing technical expertise which may be equipment based or repair technique based for the identification of the facility's availability and maintainability.

Specific Electrical Skills
  • Electrical measurements, engineering units, and use of electrical test instruments (multimeter, insulation tester, earth tester, relay test kits)
  • Understanding of electrical hazards, risk assessment, and safe work practices (LOTO, PTW systems)
  • Expertise in Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment such as:
    • Switchgear (LV, MV, HV)
    • Power and distribution transformers
    • Motors (AC/DC), starters, and control panels
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
    • Fire Alarm Panels (FAP)
    • UPS systems and DC battery chargers
    • Cathodic Protection systems
    • HVAC electrical systems
  • Reading, interpreting, and analyzing electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), schematics, and control circuits
  • Low and High Voltage protection relay configuration and testing
  • Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical systems
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, API local authority regulations)
  • Exposure to PLC/DCS panels and interface with instrumentation & control systems
  • Energy management concepts and power quality analysis (harmonics, power factor, load balancing)
  • Testing & commissioning of electrical installations and equipment
  • Coordinate and participate in the prioritization process of periodic technology improvements, upgrades, testing or any high value supported improvement opportunities to enhance maintenance activities and reliability across EQUATE.
  • Assist in providing advanced troubleshooting in order to ensure reliability, cost reduction, and equipment productivity.
  • Serve as a technical resource in technical evaluations of suppliers and projects to identify opportunities for improvement in order to achieve best quality.
  • Monitor and validate supplier performance within the discipline operation unit to maintain and recommend opportunities for improvements in compliance with operational procedures.
