Health Safety Environment Engineer

Job Purpose

The HSE Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable regulatory legislation. The role focuses on promoting a safe working environment, minimizing operational risks, and supporting continuous improvement across project activities.

• Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems across project sites.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, client requirements, and local regulatory standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed investigation reports with preventive measures.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE awareness training for employees and contractors.
• Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with safe work practices.
• Review and approve Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments (RA), and Permit to Work (PTW) documentation.
• Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, pollution prevention, and environmental protection initiatives.
• Maintain HSE records, reports, statistics, and documentation.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders on HSE matters.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through continuous monitoring, coaching, and employee engagement.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized and accredited university.

• ASSP Certificate in Global Safety Management
• General Industrial Safety
• Construction Safety
• Environmental Management
• Industrial Hygiene
• Or any equivalent internationally recognized HSE qualification.

• Minimum five (5) years of relevant HSE experience.
• At least two (2) years of experience within the Oil & Gas sector is mandatory.
• Experience on major EPC, construction, maintenance, or industrial projects will be considered an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent risk assessment and incident investigation skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to conduct audits, inspections, and HSE training.
• Good report writing and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and under pressure.
