We are seeking a seasoned Senior Cost Control Engineer to join our dynamic team in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cost management within the engineering and construction sectors, demonstrating a strong ability to oversee project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting. This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex project environments while ensuring financial integrity and compliance with industry standards.

The Senior Cost Control Engineer will play a pivotal role in guiding financial decisions, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing project profitability through meticulous cost analysis and proactive risk management.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive cost control systems and procedures to monitor project budgets and performance metrics.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and financial forecasts for various stages of project development, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
  • Conduct regular financial reporting and variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions to project management.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to establish cost management strategies that align with overall project goals and timelines.
  • Review and approve contractor payment applications, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Participate in risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior cost control staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in cost control and project management.
  • Utilize advanced software tools for cost management and reporting, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of financial data analysis.
  • Prepare and present cost reports and financial summaries to senior management, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Preferred Candidate
  • Proven experience in cost control engineering, preferably within the oil and gas or construction industries.
  • Should have working experience with electrical construction company.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong emphasis on accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in cost management software and tools, with a solid understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Professional certification in cost engineering or project management is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving, with a focus on achieving project objectives and delivering value.
