About the Position:
This position is located at AL AHMADI, Kuwait. The incumbent will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist for aviation weapon and support systems assigned to regional operational activities within Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) areas of responsibility. The incumbent will be responsible for the life cycle quality of goods and services through incorporating value-added quality assurance processes and policies.

Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. This position cannot be made permanent without further competition. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Assisting with Quality Assurance (QA) programs for aviation weapon systems, subsystems, or ground support equipment;
2) Monitoring the execution of aviation field maintenance, modification work orders (MWO) and component repairs;
3) Performing contract surveillance utilizing established checklists and quality data analysis; and/or
4) Applying aviation safety regulations, technical manuals and guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
