Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Tax Professional to perform the  final technical review  of U.S. tax returns, including Forms  1040, 1065, 1120‑S, 1120 , and all related state filings. This role serves as the last line of defense before filing—ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance across all returns. You will identify missing information, validate preparer inputs, and apply advanced tax knowledge with sound professional judgment.

A key part of this role is the ability to connect business returns to related individual filings to ensure consistency across all entities.

Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Review:  Conduct detailed technical reviews of individual and business tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Audit for Completeness:  Identify missing information by comparing client data to prior-year filings, financial activity, and expected tax positions.
Technical Research:  Independently research and document tax positions using authoritative tax law resources.
Integrated Analysis:  Review business returns (1065/1120‑S) alongside individual returns (1040) to ensure proper flow‑through and beneficial reporting for the clients that firm is prepare of both business and personal returns.
Critical Thinking:  Challenge assumptions, validate data entry, and ensure all tax positions are reasonable and well‑supported.

Qualifications
Advanced Tax Knowledge:  Strong expertise in Business (1120, 1120‑S, 1065) and Individual (1040) tax compliance.
Analytical Judgment:  Proven ability to interpret financial statements and “connect the dots” across multiple entities.
Credentials:  EA or CPA strongly preferred.

Experience:

Minimum  2–4+ years  specifically reviewing complex U.S. tax returns.

Operational Requirements & Commitment
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following professional standards:

Work Hours:

Must remain online and active until at least  5:00 PM EST  on weekdays (and longer when needed to meet deadlines).
Blackout Period:
No leave  permitted from  January 1 to April 30 —no exceptions.
Ownership & Research:  Ability to work independently, perform your own research, and make confident, well‑reasoned decisions.
Integrity & Reporting:  Daily progress logs required; we rely on honesty and consistent output without micromanagement.
Work Environment:  Quiet, distraction‑free workspace with  no background noise  and a  limited-to no‑phone policy  during work hours.
Technical Requirements:  Stable high‑speed internet (minimum  30 Mbps ) and immediate responsiveness during your shift.
