Senior Accountant

Reports to:

VP Finance / CFO

Position Summary
Our US Division is seeking a Senior Accountant. This role goes beyond day-to-day bookkeeping to own accurate financial reporting, GAAP-compliant close processes, and reconciliations across multiple entities. The Senior Accountant will maintain financial records in Quick Books Online (QBO), oversee AP/AR and expense processes through Ramp, prepare monthly financial statements, and play a key role in building scalable finance processes and internal controls as the company grows.

The ideal candidate has a strong command of GAAP, debits and credits, and financial statement preparation, is highly proficient in Excel and cloud-based financial systems, and is comfortable operating in a fast-changing, high-growth environment with shifting priorities and increasing complexity.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close
Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) across multiple entities for management review.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Ensure transactions are recorded and coded in accordance with GAAP and the company's chart of accounts.
Review and analyze account reconciliations prepared by bookkeeping staff, resolving discrepancies as needed.
Support budget-to-actual analysis and financial summaries for leadership.

Accounts Payable, Receivable & Banking Oversight
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes for US CPA affiliated firms, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
Review vendor bill coding, payment runs, and vendor statement reconciliations.
Review customer invoicing, outstanding balances, and collections activity.
Perform or review monthly bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple entities.
Prepare and analyze A/P and A/R aging reports, identifying trends and risk areas for management.

Process Improvement & Internal Controls
Partner with the VP Finance/CFO to design, document, and implement scalable accounting processes and SOPs as the company grows.
Identify and help implement improvements to internal controls, workflows, and system usage (QBO, Ramp, and related platforms).
Support system or process transitions as the finance function scales (e.g., new tools, expanded entity structures, automation).
Assist with payroll processing coordination and expense report review oversight.

Audit, Tax & Compliance Support
Maintain organized financial records and documentation to support audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements.
Serve as a point of contact for external accountants, auditors, or tax preparers as needed.

Communication & Stakeholder Support
Serve as a key point of contact for internal firm representatives and external stakeholders on financial reporting, billing, and accounting matters.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance team members and other departments to support efficient financial operations.

Qualifications
4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on A/P, A/R, and month-end close responsibility.
Strong working knowledge of GAAP, debits and credits, and accrual-basis accounting required.
Proficiency in Quick Books Online (QBO) required; experience with multi-entity QBO environments strongly preferred.
Strong comfort with cloud-based financial and operational software (e.g., QBO, Ramp, , or similar) required.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling) required.
Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and supporting audits or tax preparation.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under deadline pressure.
Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and take on increasing responsibility as a company scales.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working directly with leadership and external stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CA or CPA.

Preferred Experience
Experience supporting multiple legal entities or client ledgers within QBO.
Experience in a professional services, accounting, or private equity-backed environment.
Experience helping build or scale finance processes, systems, or controls during a growth phase.
Familiarity with AP, AR, and payment automation platforms (, Ramp, etc.).
Experience working with external auditors or tax preparers.
