Primary title: Consultant Neurologist
Role & Responsibilities
Provide high-quality outpatient and inpatient neurology consultations across stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular and movement disorders, ensuring evidence-based diagnosis and treatment plans.
Manage acute neurology emergencies including stroke pathway activation, IV thrombolysis coordination and collaboration with interventional teams for reperfusion when indicated.
Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as EEG, EMG/NCS and lumbar puncture; order and interpret neuroimaging (CT/MRI) to guide management.
Lead multidisciplinary care rounds with neurosurgery, intensive care, rehabilitation and allied specialties to optimise patient outcomes and discharge planning.
Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and implement quality-improvement initiatives in neurology services.
Contribute to training and mentoring of junior clinicians, residents and allied health professionals; engage in continued medical education and clinical audits.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
MD/DNB in Neurology or equivalent and active registration with the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council.
Clinical proficiency in EEG, EMG/NCS and performing lumbar puncture with demonstrated interpretation skills.
Experience managing acute stroke pathways including IV thrombolysis and coordination with stroke intervention teams.
Strong ability to interpret neuroimaging (CT/MRI) and integrate findings into clinical management.
Preferred
Prior experience in neurocritical care or management of complex neurological inpatients in a tertiary hospital setting.
Competence in movement disorder interventions such as botulinum toxin therapy and management of neuromuscular disorders.
