Key Responsibilities of Solar Asset Manager
Plant Performance & Asset Optimization
Ensure maximum plant availability and achievement of annual energy generation commitments.
Monitor plant performance through SCADA systems, data analytics platforms, and operational dashboards.
Analyze key performance indicators including Performance Ratio (PR), CUF, availability, grid outages, and system losses.
Identify performance gaps and implement corrective and optimization initiatives to enhance asset yield.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for generation losses and recurring operational issues.
Operations & Maintenance Management
Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for solar modules, inverters, transformers, switch gear, pooling substations, and balance-of-plant equipment.
Lead troubleshooting activities related to electrical systems, protection schemes, communication networks, and SCADA infrastructure.
Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, and service partners for specialized maintenance and technical support.
Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs such as MTTR, MTBF, equipment availability, and reliability indices.
Health, Safety, Environment & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure adherence to HSE standards, company policies, and applicable electrical regulations.
Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, permit-to-work reviews, and safety inspections.
Maintain statutory compliance records including earthing resistance testing, thermography inspections, relay testing, and lightning protection system audits.
Drive a strong safety culture across site operations and contractor workforce.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Manage and mentor O&M engineers, technicians, operators, and contractor teams.
Plan workforce deployment and monitor operational performance across sites.
Coordinate with DISCOMs, SLDC/RLDC authorities, transmission utilities, OEMs, EPC partners, and internal stakeholders.
Support management decision-making through timely operational reviews and performance reporting.
Spare Parts, Inventory & Vendor Management
Manage critical spare inventory for inverters, modules, transformers, switch gear, protection systems, and associated equipment.
Administer AMCs, service contracts, and vendor performance reviews.
Ensure cost-effective procurement and optimum inventory levels to minimize downtime and operational risk.
Reporting, Documentation & Performance Tracking
Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly asset performance reports covering generation, availability, downtime, losses, and maintenance activities.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for ISO audits, electrical inspectorate requirements, lender audits, and internal compliance reviews.
Track O&M budgets, warranty claims, spare consumption, and asset lifecycle performance.
Support data-driven performance improvement initiatives through analytical reporting.
Audits, Warranty & Contract Management
Support safety audits, technical due diligence reviews, insurance inspections, and compliance assessments.
Manage warranty claims, service tickets, and OEM escalation processes.
Ensure contractual SLAs and performance guarantees are met by service providers and vendors.
