Product Design Consultant

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying component and assembly design changes that reduce material cost, labor, and production issues. You will play a key role in scoping, developing, analyzing, and evaluating production design change projects. This position requires coordination of all pre-production activities and approvals for each project.

Responsibilities
Identify opportunities for optimizing material cost, labor, and production efficiency through component and assembly design changes.
Pressure control, valve control, and fluid control knowledge and a plus.
Knowledge of the food and beverage industry is a plus.
Take the lead in scoping, developing, analyzing, and evaluating production design change projects.
Coordinate pre-production activities and secure necessary approvals for each project.
Analyze field service call data to identify root causes of quality issues and develop effective solutions.
Implement bill of material changes, drawing modifications, new part drawings, and new model numbers for the production team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation of design changes and achieve targeted cost reductions.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for new products and product modifications.
Obtain approvals for all new parts and product changes following established procedures.
Foster technical expertise within the product line and provide support to other teams as required.
Travel is required up to 25%.
