Role Purpose
Own the strategy for modernizing and scaling a portfolio of mission-critical .NET and SQL applications on Microsoft Azure. As Principal Product Manager, lead product discovery and delivery across multiple products—defining vision and OKRs( Objectives and Key Results), shaping the roadmap, prioritizing the backlog, and orchestrating cross-functional execution to deliver measurable improvements in performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
Scope & Impact
Portfolio ownership across several products which are deployed in Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory; accountable for end-to-end outcomes.
Sets standards for discovery, delivery, Dev Sec Ops , and Reliability Engineering practices; mentors Senior developers and influences architecture decisions.
Product Delivery & Agile Leadership
Serve as Product Owner across Scrum—backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives.
Partner with engineering to scope MVPs, set acceptance criteria, and enforce Definition of Ready/Done; lead release trains and cutovers.
Establish CI/CD with Azure Dev Ops/Git Hub Actions
Architecture & Platform Modernization
Champion upgrade paths from .NET Framework to modern .NET (e.g., .NET
8) and ASP.NET Core; adopt cloud-native patterns.
Select landing zones per workload:
Azure App Service (PaaS), Azure Functions (serverless)
Drive API strategy (REST/gRPC), versioning, and integration via Azure API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid/Event Hubs.
Data & Database Modernization
Lead migration and optimization of SQL Server to Azure SQL (Database/Managed Instance); ensure schema hygiene and data integrity.
Own performance engineering: indexing, Query Store analysis, plan tuning, statistics, partitioning; caching (Azure Cache for Redis).
Security & Compliance (Dev Sec Ops )
Embed security-by-design:
Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) for OAuth2/OIDC, RBAC, Managed Identity;
Key Vault for secrets. Align with enterprise policies and GxP/CSV.
Requirements
Experience
12–15 years in software/product roles; 5+ years as Product Manager/Owner for .NET/Azure platforms; prior ownership of multi-team programs.
Demonstrated delivery of modernization programs—architecture decisions, migration plans, release management, and measurable outcomes.
Technical Domain Skills
.NET 6/7/8, ASP.NET Core, C#, REST/gRPC; EF Core and Dapper.
Azure compute:
App Service, Azure Functions, AKS; containers (Docker) and Kubernetes fundamentals.
Azure SQL/SQL Server:
Query Store, execution plans, indexing, statistics, partitioning; data migration and ETL patterns.
Integration:
Azure API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid/Event Hubs; webhooks and API versioning.
CI/CD:
Azure Dev Ops (Repos, Boards, Pipelines, Test Plans, Artifacts) and/or Git Hub Actions; YAML pipelines; release orchestration.
Identity & security:
Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), OAuth2/OIDC, RBAC; secure coding and OWASP controls.
Performance & scaling: caching (Azure Cache for Redis), async processing, load/stress testing, capacity planning;
Fin Ops.
Preferred
Familiarity with Git Hub Copilot and .NET Upgrade Assistant; AI-assisted modernization workflows.
Certifications:
AZ-400 (Dev Ops), AZ-305 (Architect), DP-300 (Azure SQL).
Key Metrics (Product Outcomes)
Deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, mean time to recovery (MTTR).
Establish and improve benchmarks for each--Latency, throughput, error rate; SQL query performance and resource efficiency.
