This is a full-time on-site role for a Software Test Engineer located in Ahmedabad. The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for executing test cases, performing software testing, and ensuring the quality of software development. Daily tasks will also involve collaborating with development teams, identifying and reporting bugs, documenting testing processes, and contributing to efficient software delivery processes.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute detailed manual test cases based on business and functional requirements.
Perform Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Smoke Testing, and System Integration Testing (SIT).
Conduct end-to-end testing to validate complete workflows of web and application-based software.
Perform API testing using tools like Postman to validate backend services.
Conduct cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure compatibility.
Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA or Trello with proper screenshots and clear documentation.
Re-test resolved defects and perform regression testing before release.
Collaborate closely with Developers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Technical Leads to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
Participate in requirement analysis and prepare effective test scenarios and test cases.
Maintain proper test documentation, reports, and QA artifacts.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with stakeholders when required.
Required Skill Sets
Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
Hands-on experience in Functional Testing and Regression Testing.
Experience in writing clear and comprehensive test cases.
Good knowledge of defect lifecycle and bug tracking tools.
Basic experience in API testing (Postman preferred).
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Good analytical thinking and logical reasoning skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Education:
B.Tech, M Tech, BCA, MCA or relevant experience.
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in manual testing.
CTC : 5 lpa to 7 lpa
