The Jewelry Grader is responsible for the accurate evaluation and grading of finished jewelry pieces containing set gemstones, primarily diamonds. The role requires strong gemological expertise, precision in analysis, and adherence to internationally recognized grading standards. The position supports quality assurance, documentation accuracy, and operational excellence within a professional laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Jewelry Grading & Evaluation
Perform comprehensive grading of finished jewelry pieces, including diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, and colored gemstones.
Assess gemstone quality, characteristics, metal purity, craftsmanship, and overall jewelry design.
Grade both loose stones and finished jewelry in line with international grading methodologies.
Use gemological tools such as loupe and microscope (scope) for accurate identification and analysis.
Ensure grading consistency, accuracy, and compliance with established standards.
Quality Control & Calibration
Conduct internal quality checks to maintain uniform grading outcomes.
Participate in calibration sessions to align grading practices.
Identify and resolve grading discrepancies while maintaining quality benchmarks.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate grading records, observations, and measurements.
Prepare detailed grading reports and certification documentation.
Support reporting on productivity and quality metrics.
Operational & Compliance Responsibilities
Ensure proper handling, calibration, and maintenance of grading equipment.
Follow laboratory safety, security, and cleanliness protocols.
Stay updated with industry trends, gemological advancements, and evolving standards.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Candidate Requirements
2–10 years of experience in jewelry grading or gemological laboratory operations
Hands-on experience with diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, and colored stones
Strong proficiency in using loupe and microscope (scope)
Experience grading both loose stones and finished jewelry
Ability to handle production volumes with accuracy and consistency
Willingness to attend in-person interviews and relocate to Surat , if required
Salary based As per the Industry Standard.
Notice period: Immediate to maximum 10 days
