Job SummaryThe Flight Coordinator is responsible for receiving emergent and non‑emergent telephone requests for patient transport. They assign the most appropriate air unit using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and serve as the primary link between the Flight Team and the resources required for each transport. The Coordinator is the central hub for cross‑functional communications among Aviation, Maintenance, Operations, Clinical, and Administrative departments, demonstrating proficiency with CAD, mapping software, communications equipment, multi‑line telephone systems, and digital recording equipment.
EssentialFunctions / Duties
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills with all customers, co‑workers, management, and the public.
- Receive and handle all customer requests for or about medical transports in a friendly, timely, and professional manner.
- Listen and accurately document all interactions.
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Assign and coordinate medical transport by Air Evac.
- Handle the decline and cancellations of transport requests, offering alternate solutions or aircraft when appropriate.
- Maintain data entries in the CAD system for all requests.
- Actively monitor aircraft while in flight and enter aircraft position reports into the CAD system.
- Communicate with the Flight Coordinator Supervisor when issues arise.
- Communicate with partners and the Flight Team to facilitate transports as needed.
- Participate and contribute willingly, effectively, and efficiently as a team member in various councils accomplishing the organization’s stated goals.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multi‑task
- Ability to function in a fast‑paced, at times high‑stress work environment
- Computer literate
