Job DescriptionThe Senior Architect - Process will lead the development of pharmaceutical and life science project teams to create world-class designs for Life Science clients. The Senior Architect - Process will oversee the project team throughout the design and construction phases, integrating process systems into architectural concepts and plans according to budget, environmental factors, and client needs.
- Lead project design from conceptualization through completion based on client and team requirements.
- Develop, modify, and review production drawings for Life Science facilities.
- Participate in project scheduling, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning. Manage change orders effectively.
- Apply knowledge of FDA, cGMP, and relevant industry codes and procedures.
- Develop designs for new or renovated facilities that integrate equipment, processes, and personnel.
- Deliver Process Architect outputs across the Life Sciences sector, including Animal Health, Biotechnology, and Pharmaceuticals.
- Identify operational efficiencies to optimize and reduce facility footprint.
- Utilize architectural standards, compile reports, and write specifications.
- Address complex projects with innovative, non-standard design solutions.
- Review production drawings for compliance, constructability, and quality assurance.
- Coordinate with field personnel during construction to resolve design issues, conduct inspections, and test materials.
- Lead field inspections, measurements, and calculations for clients.
- Prepare and present technical reports for clients and publications.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders; develop new business opportunities.
- Participate in sales, marketing, and pursuit leadership.
- Develop and manage project budgets, proposals, and performance reports.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance within the architectural team.
- Ensure QA/QC adherence and safety compliance.
- Maintain effective communication across teams and with clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited program.
- Minimum 8 years of architectural experience, consulting preferred.
- Registration as an Architect preferred.
- Expertise in architectural techniques, codes, and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Revit, Adobe Suite, and 3D rendering tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading large projects and delegating tasks.
- Ability to travel as needed.
