Field Engineer at CEIS | Critical Energy Infrastructure Services
CEIS is seeking a Field Engineer to support fabrication and field‑execution activities at the Savannah River Site. The role coordinates schedules, documentation, materials, customer communication, and project controls to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes, cost management, and engineering documentation, and can manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Coordinate project requirements across drafting, materials management, production, quality, and shipping teams.
- Support the Field Engineering Manager in developing schedules, manpower charts, technical documentation, and project reports.
- Assist with project budgets, including set‑up, revisions, forecasting, and cost/margin analysis.
- Identify project risks, elevate concerns to management, and support resolution efforts.
- Prepare, maintain, and update customer time & material rates, billings, invoices, and supporting documentation.
- Track payment status and coordinate outstanding receivables with internal stakeholders.
- Maintain organized contract and project documentation in accordance with CEIS operating procedures.
- Review projects for compliance with codes, contract requirements, and documentation standards.
- Support project closure by coordinating PO closeout, inactivating cost codes, and verifying final cost accuracy (ECAC).
- Maintain communication with contractors, vendors, and customer representatives throughout execution.
- Prepare material and labor take‑offs for estimating using drawings, ISOs, and bills of materials.
- Create estimating summaries and support spool invoicing processes for completed work.
- Update drawings as needed and assist with CAD‑based documentation.
- Support document control, material inventory management, and shop/field coordination.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field (preferred).
- Industrial construction or fabrication experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fabrication, industrial construction, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of cost controls, forecasting, and project financials.
- Ability to read and interpret orthographic and isometric drawings.
- Working knowledge of pipe and structural welding processes.
- Experience with invoicing, spool documentation, and as‑built packages.
- Familiarity with CAD and drawing updates.
- Knowledge of material inventory systems and document control workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly detail‑oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Access.
