Overview
Industrial Hygienist (1481) at Fluor Corporation. Fluor is a leading government contractor delivering technical solutions to U.S. government agencies. The purpose of this position is to manage the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) function to create and sustain a productive work culture and a safe work environment, preventing human injury, environmental degradation, and unsafe working conditions through HSE training, programs, and processes in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities- Manage and train subordinates on HSE activities for large-scale projects; budget and staffing planning; certification/classification programs; supporting HSE documents; coordination and execution of safety cases, QRA, PHA, FPS, and EIA as required by certification or regulatory entities
- Provide guidance to business lines, project management, and Company organizations on HSE practices and client/regulatory requirements
- Make independent engineering/scientific decisions related to HSE using advanced techniques
- Develop, customize, and supervise HSE programs including site-based orientation and recognition programs to promote safety and productivity
- Run gap analyses to align Company practices with client and regulatory requirements
- Initiate and maintain HSE standards and goals across projects
- Adhere to Fluor's HSE and Sustainability Policies
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in a relevant field and eight years of related experience, or twelve years total experience without a degree (local requirements may vary)
- Effective communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders
- Job-related technical knowledge to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply applicable statutes and guidelines
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-efficient manner
Job Requirements
- Proof of US Citizenship required
- Continued education and knowledge of industry HSE information and regulations
- May serve as a Company representative to external HSE organizations
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential preferred
- Intermediate computer skills (word processing, email, spreadsheets, presentations)
- Experience managing medium to large projects
- Leadership, mediation, and strong presentation skills
- Strong organizational and critical thinking abilities
- Valid driver’s license, if required
Salary Range: $102,000 - $184,000
