SMSI is seeking multiple Commissioning / Startup Test Engineers to work onsite at Savannah River Nuclear Site (SRNS) in Aiken, SC. Candidates will conduct startup testing, design reviews, procedure development, and test execution. Candidates must have demonstrated previous experience with the use and implementation of Manual 5E, Startup Test Program, and related directives and standards, or an equivalent Commissioning/Startup program.

• Possess technical knowledge of Commissioning/Startup Testing, including experience in startup testing, design reviews, procedure development, and test execution.
• Demonstrate previous experience with the use and implementation of Manual 5E, Startup Test Program, and related directives and standards, or an equivalent Commissioning/Startup program.
• Develop, review, approve, and present technical work documents and commissioning test procedures.
• Maintain personal accountability for facility/project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and the safe performance of work.
• Have a minimum of 1 year of recent testing experience supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) or the commercial nuclear industry.

• Technical knowledge of Commissioning/Startup Testing and experience in startup testing, design reviews, procedure development, and test execution.
• Experience with Manual 5E, Startup Test Program, and related directives and standards.
• Experience developing, reviewing, approving, and presenting technical work documents and commissioning test procedures.
• Personal accountability for project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and safe work practices.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance.
• Minimum 1 year of recent testing experience supporting DOE or the commercial nuclear industry.

• Glovebox leak testing and airflow balancing experience.
• ASHRAE experience.
• HVAC system testing and balancing experience.
• Startup Testing Execution qualification(s) Level II or III (per ASME NQA‑1 test program).
• Active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.

• Ph.D. in applicable science or engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience.
• Master's degree with 8+ years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.
• Associate’s degree with 12+ years of experience.
• High School diploma or equivalence with 14+ years of experience.
