General Function

The Eye Care Advisor creates exceptional value for our customers by delivering the Lens Crafters Experience. The role ensures all patients receive the highest quality optometric care, drives store performance, and integrates the brand story with flawless execution of the patient experience, linking both doctor and retail functions.

Major

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greets customers promptly (within 30 seconds).
  • Answers the telephone within three rings in a friendly, courteous manner.
  • Explains all required paperwork, tests, products, and services.
  • Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully; consults with Optician, Managing Doctor, or Retail Management when needed.
  • Displays patience and courtesy with indecisive or difficult customers and patients.
  • Performs work accurately, thoroughly, and efficiently despite time pressure and customer volume.
  • Identifies unsatisfied customers and resolves issues promptly.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of appointment booking/scheduling procedures and computer operations.
  • Maintains all patient records accurately and HIPAA‑compliant.
  • Places contact lens orders, processes shipments, and submits invoices for payment.
  • Operates the POS system accurately, collects proper payment, and adheres to company security procedures.
  • Explains the “One Hour” processing time and expected delivery times to customers.
  • Maintains store appearance and visual displays in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Ensures a safe working environment for all associates and patients.
  • Responds quickly to changes in store promotions and communicates updates to staff.
Retail
  • Demonstrates good product knowledge and accurately describes features and benefits of lenses and frames.
  • Assists customers in selecting frames and lenses that best suit vision, lifestyle, and budget.
Doctor’s Office
  • Performs all pre‑examination testing with accuracy and explains measurements to patients.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to patients on contact lens care and handling.
  • Maintains and disinfects contact lens inventory and supports the optometrist as needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills (internal and external).
  • Knowledge of current fashion trends.
  • Strong communicator and listener.
  • Problem‑solving ability.
  • Familiarity with cash registers, computers, and calculators.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Proficient in sales skills.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Knowledge of office and store merchandise.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in customer service, retail, and/or optical.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
