Responsibilities
  • Prepares room, equipment, contrast media and materials as needed for procedures.
  • Maintains clean and stocked CT procedure room daily.
  • Properly warms CT equipment daily and ensures its proper functioning.
  • Notifies the appropriate person if CT equipment is not functioning.
  • Prepares patients for CT procedures—explains the procedure, transfers them to the examination table, positions them correctly, and assists them at the end of the procedure.
  • Labels scans appropriately and uses proper patient  film prior to development.
  • Performs general clerical, file‑room, darkroom, and transportation duties as needed.
  • Practices patient care in accordance with ARMC policy.
  • Assists radiologists during procedures and takes scans as requested.
  • Schedules exams for the entire radiology department in the correct sequence.
  • Considers age‑related factors in obtaining images or performing diagnostic or therapeutic imaging studies (applying knowledge to patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics).
  • Accepts additional work during periods of low patient volume and demonstrates willingness to assist others within the department.
  • Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all data, records, forms, reports, procedures, and other information concerning Aiken Regional Medical Centers 100% of the time.
  • Implements radiation safety procedures when working with radiation‑producing equipment 100% of the time.
  • Reviews all departmental manuals annually.
  • Ensures patient charges are entered into RMS accurately and timely.
  • Maintains the measures described in the Universal Protocol policy.
  • Sends images to PACS appropriately and verifies availability for interpretation in a timely manner.
  • Uses CT power injectors correctly.
  • Rotates to other imaging departments as needed and participates in holiday and on‑call rotations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a radiological program or equivalent military training.
  • BLS (or BLS obtained within 90 days of employment).
  • Current active or temporary South Carolina license issued by the SC Radiation Quality Standards Association and current RT registration.
  • One year of CT experience in a clinical setting.
