Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician, Aiken, SC

The Field Service technician is responsible for providing customer service and technical support to our customers at their site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned.

OPERATIONAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE

• Operates within a team-oriented field service group to provide customer service and technical expertise of equipment and process.
• Maintain a region of accounts, as well as periodically assist in the trial and setup process for potential new customers.
• Strive to continually improve dilution equipment and application process of anti-tack.
• Preventive maintenance of level control systems, PLC's, pneumatic pumps, motors, etc.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical and pneumatic circuits.
• Maintain inventory of parts on service vehicle and customer job box.

• Respond to customer issues via phone or service trip if required.
• Assist in budget management for accounts.
• Recognize opportunity for growth in existing accounts.
• Effectively communicate issues and solutions to customers.
• Maintain product inventory at customer sites.

Qualifications:

To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility in a satisfactory manner through individual effort or within a team setting. Must have the ability to effectively present information to management, customers and other employees Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, the well-qualified candidate will have the following education and experience.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Meets all job specific education requirements as deemed necessary.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; training is considered a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical service.

Physical Demands:

• Stands, bends, stoops, squats, reaches, twists, and otherwise moves continuously during the work day.
• Frequently walks throughout the workday.
• Frequently reaches above shoulder level to lift or otherwise move objects that weigh 30 - 50 pounds.
• Pushes and pulls frequently.
• Functions and operates comfortably in a very active fast-paced environment.
• Endures extreme temperatures of heat and cold to include a wet environment.
• Withstands loud noise and distractions.

Work Environment:

The job duties are performed in an inside, temperature-controlled environment and on the plant floor.
