The Reserve Club – Location

The Reserve Club in Aiken, South Carolina, a developer owned, premier private country club founded in 2002 within the gated Woodside community, is seeking a positive, energetic, and highly capable professional with strong leadership experience and a proven track record in high quality operations management at private club operations or high-end hospitality settings. The GM/COO must demonstrate team-building, financial literacy, and best-practice skills in club leadership, with the ability to build consensus, set clear goals, and mentor staff in a professional, diplomatic manner.

General Manager/Chief Operating Officer Position Description
  • The GM/COO will support primary objectives of The Reserve that include: cultivating strong leadership and sustainable growth; fostering member relationships with events and social groups; maintaining and developing world-class amenities; and striving for excellence in hospitality and member experience.
  • The GM/COO has responsibility for all day-to-day operations of The Reserve Club, directing and administering all aspects of operations, including oversight of amenities, staff, and programs to ensure outstanding service and member/guest engagement and satisfaction.
Food and Beverage (F&B)
  • Understand the financial metrics for achieving goals in F&B operations and review these with direct reports to ensure understanding and buy-in.
  • Ensure excellent F&B production and service for all venues and provide superb dining experiences for members and guests.
  • Develop and enhance onboarding and training programs for all food service personnel and establish operating standards for F&B staff.
Financial Management
  • Oversee preparation and management of annual operating and multi-year capital budgets aligned with the Ownership’s strategy.
  • Ensure safeguards and controls are in place for primary assets, staff, amenities, and other resources.
Vision and Leadership
  • Be a thought partner for the Ownership, stay ahead of trends, demographics, and issues, and set aggressive goals to ensure current and future success while maintaining the TRC brand.
Employee Relations
  • Lead as a servant leader, developing staff and maintaining a visible management style; recognize and support managers and staff; set performance standards and hold departments accountable; promote a positive, professional environment.
Member, Ownership, and Committee Relations
  • Ensure member satisfaction is the top priority; engage consistently with membership and guests; support Woodside development and related policies; contribute to the Woodside group of companies.
Communication
  • Be a primary two-way conduit for information, listen actively, and communicate clearly to members and staff; use contemporary media to enhance communication platforms.
Candidate Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership/management experience in a contemporary business model club or high-service hospitality operation.
  • Strong management skills with strengths in team development, financial performance, diverse amenities, quality F&B programming, member/guest service, strategic planning, renovations, and project management.
  • Ability to define and achieve goals; proven leadership directing all facets of a full-service country club with a substantial operating budget.
  • Extensive professional network in hospitality who can benefit TRC; team-building, mentorship, accountability, and problem-solving skills; strong organizational skills.
