The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Aiken County was established in 2003 to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children and families can access critical services such as medical exams, forensic interviewing, and advocacy support, all at no cost.

Role Description

We are hiring a full‑time, on‑site Forensic Interviewer/Therapist based in Aiken, SC. The role involves conducting child‑friendly, trauma‑sensitive forensic interviews, providing trauma‑focused therapeutic services for child victims and families, maintaining client documentation, participating in case reviews, offering expert testimony in court when required, and providing crisis intervention support.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct child‑friendly, trauma‑sensitive forensic interviews
  • Deliver trauma‑focused therapeutic services to child victims and families
  • Maintain accurate client documentation and adhere to documentation standards
  • Participate in case reviews with multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide expert testimony in court when required
  • Offer crisis intervention support
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in conducting forensic interviews and trauma‑focused therapy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for multidisciplinary team collaboration
  • Knowledge of child development, trauma‑informed care, and child welfare policies
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and adhere to documentation standards
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
  • Licensure in counseling or social work (LPC, LMSW, or equivalent); licensure eligibility may be considered
  • Experience working with children and families impacted by trauma or abuse (preferred)
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
